Fat Face

Case study

Fat Face, one of the UK’s fastest growing retailers, produces a wide range of high quality clothing, footwear and accessories for men, women and children. Founded 25 years ago when two British guys printed up some sweatshirts and sold them from the back of a campervan to fund their lifestyle, Fat Face now has more than 200 stores across the UK and employs more than 2,000 people.

More than 250 store managers and selected head office employees attended Center Parcs Longleat Forest for an annual conference to communicate and prepare store managers for their busiest season: winter and Christmas.

Conference Search, a venue finding agent, was briefed to find somewhere that could accommodate 250 people within easy access of national transport links and with ability to break out into smaller groups of 50 – all with accommodation on site and in a setting that reflected the brand.

Longleat Forest was selected because the Center Parcs culture, environment and location reflect the lifestyle and activity associated with the Fat Face brand identity.

The Fat Face Events Manager says: "The physical conference location combined with service from conference staff contributed to the event being a huge success. The venue worked very well for us and the flexibility and soundproofing of the removable walls proved to be of paramount importance. The staff at Center Parcs could have done nothing more to improve this event and any problems were dealt with so swiftly that they never escalated."
